MATT JONES - managing director
Matt established the Jones Bar group in 2004 with the first bar in Leeds, leveraging his extensive experience gained in the hospitality industry into this first venture, with this then expanding into a multi-site group. Identifying that customers responded well to pub games, and recognising the increasing trend for distinctive experiences, Matt was inspired to create the first Roxy Ball Room to capitalise upon this trend. Matt is the strategic direction of the business, sourcing new sites and managing their development to launch. Matt’s management of new site development is a key area of competitive advantage, minimising costs so as to reduce the pressure on cash-flow and shorten the payback period.
BEN JONES - COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
Ben co-founded the business with Matt and has been integral to the operation and development of the concept since. He has worked in an operations capacity, inputting his skills where necessary to enhance the business’s function. Ben helped Matt craft the unique Roxy Ball Room concept, whilst ensuring that the internal infrastructure continues to be capable of supporting the operation and its growth. Ben is now responsible for managing the head-office team, internal finance aspects and the ongoing relationships with suppliers.
JOHN CROWE - OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
John joined the original bar group in 2004 and has been in the business ever since, gaining experience in a range of managerial and operational capacities. John was made a Director of the business in 2018 and now oversees all front-facing operational aspects of the group. Crucially, John has developed and implemented a comprehensive training plan for all roles in the business, ensuring that the service and customer experience is consistent across all sites.
JOEL MITCHELL - BRAND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Joel is responsible for the branding and PR campaigns that drive the business. He is key in devising the wider marketing strategies and creating the buzz around new openings.
MICHAEL CRAYFORD - OPERATIONS MANAGER FOR ROXY LEISURE
Michael joined the group in 2009 and has gained experience in numerous areas of the business. He is now responsible for operational aspects on a venue level, supporting General Managers and ensuring high customer service standards are met.
BOB DE BROISE - SENIOR SALES MANAGER & FOOD OPERATIONS
Bob manages the Front of House teams across all venues, training them on upselling. He is also responsible for the food proposition, developing the menu and ensuring standards are met
